Overview
Microsoft 365 is the primary identity and user administration platform at HV Capital.
The day-to-day admin interface is Microsoft 365 admin center, with identity data managed in Microsoft Entra ID and mailbox/alias administration handled via Exchange Online.

Access
- Sign in to Microsoft 365 admin center with an admin account.
- Use the minimum required admin role for the task (for example, user admin vs exchange admin scope).
- If required permissions are missing, request role elevation via IT support.
- Precise role assignment workflow should be documented as a follow-up if needed.
Common Tasks
Add an email alias for an existing user
- Open the user in Microsoft 365 admin center.
- Open username/email or alias settings (Exchange Online-backed flow).
- Add the alias and keep the primary address unchanged unless explicitly requested.
- Save and verify alias delivery with a test email.
Choose the correct admin system
- Start in Microsoft 365 for user identity profile, licensing, and mailbox alias requests.
- Use Google Workspace for Google-managed account claim state and managed/unmanaged Google account behavior.
Troubleshooting
- If a new alias does not receive mail, wait a few minutes and run an Exchange message trace.
- Check junk/quarantine before concluding delivery failure.
- For Google invitation issues after alias creation, re-send the invite after alias delivery is confirmed and ask the user to retry in guest/incognito.
