Google Workspace

Overview

HV Capital primarily uses Microsoft 365 for productivity and collaboration.

Google Workspace is used to manage user identities and access for Google services (for example Google Drive sharing and Google account behavior on the @hvcapital.com domain).

Primary identity note: Microsoft 365.

For user administration, Microsoft 365 is the primary admin interface. In practice:

• The main UI is Microsoft 365 admin center.
• Identity data is backed by Microsoft Entra ID.
• Mailbox aliases are managed in Exchange Online admin flows.

Access

• Admin access is managed via Microsoft 365 admin roles and related service roles (for example Exchange admin where needed).
• Use Google Workspace admin for Google-managed account state and domain user-claim issues.

Common Tasks

Decide system of record for user/account changes

• If the request is about HV mailbox identity or aliases, start in Microsoft 365 admin/Exchange Online.
• If the request is about Google account claim state, deactivated/unmanaged behavior, or Drive access on @hvcapital.com, check Google Workspace.

Google invite not received after creating an HV alias

• Confirm the alias exists and receives mail in Microsoft 365/Exchange Online.
• Check junk/quarantine/message trace for the Google sender domain.
• Re-send the Google invite after alias delivery is verified.
• Ask the user to retry in guest/incognito to avoid cached sign-in state.

Troubleshooting

• If a user cannot open a shared Google Drive link and sees account deactivated/unmanaged behavior, test in a guest/incognito session first to avoid cached Google sign-in state.
• If needed, remove and re-add sharing permissions and retry the email verification flow.
