Jump Host (JH)

Overview

Jump Host, also referred to as JH or jumphost, is the access point for self-hosted hosts in Munich.

Use it as the intermediate system before accessing internal host UIs or shells.

Access

  1. Connect to the jump host over RDP.
  2. Sign in with your personal firstname.lastname credentials.
  3. From the jump host, access internal hosts by their internal address.
  4. For web UIs, open the target host IP in a browser running on the jump host.
  5. Use the relevant admin account for the next step of accessing the target self-hosted host.

Specific host URLs, IPs, and credential locations are not documented here yet. Add them when confirmed.

Common Tasks

Reach an internal web UI

  1. Connect to the jump host.
  2. Sign in with your personal firstname.lastname credentials.
  3. Open a browser session on the jump host.
  4. Navigate to the internal IP of the target host.
  5. Sign in to the target host with the relevant admin account.

Reach an internal shell

  1. Connect to the jump host.
  2. Sign in with your personal firstname.lastname credentials.
  3. From there, open the shell session to the target internal host.
  4. Use the relevant admin account for the target host.
